Act Two: Full Calendars, Loud Flight Attendants and Late-Night Pages

Working from home meant kicking off Thursday with an early morning gym session - legs, back and abs were on the menu yesterday again. Every rep felt earned, which was a good thing, because the rest of the day was an absolute desk marathon. Work was so relentless that standing up felt like a luxury, though I managed to squeeze in a couple of quick breaks to keep my brain from completely frying. I need to buy that standing desk I’ve been eyeing recently.

Yesterday officially kicked off what is shaping up to be a brutal social calendar for the next six-plus weeks. But you know what? I refuse to apologize for it or start turning things down. I said "no" to way too many things back in Act One of my life, and in this, my Second Act, if something (or someone) catches my eye, I’m saying yes.

Last night’s main event was my weekly gay men's group dinner. Every Thursday, they arrange small-group dinners at great spots around downtown Orlando and Winter Park. It’s been a fantastic way to meet new people, and I’ve even made a few great friends outside the group over the past few weeks.

The downside? The organizers need to learn the art of rotation. We ended up at Bosphorous on Park Ave in Winter Park. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Turkish food and Bosphorous is fantastic, but we’ve been there a few times now. Shake it up already, guys!

The table dynamic was entirely dominated by an extremely outgoing, loud-voiced flight attendant for American Airlines. Getting a word in edgewise with anyone else was pretty much mission impossible due to his overall volume and airtime. The silver lining? He was undeniably cute. When he asked if we might hang out soon, we ended up exchanging texts. Let’s just say if we do meet up, I can think of a few better uses for his mouth than monologue delivery. (wink)

I made it home in time to catch the 11:00 PM news and decompress with a book. I always keep two going at once, usually a fiction and a non-fiction.

Right now, I'm rereading Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl in anticipation of a trip to Amsterdam in a few months. I forgot just how heavy and difficult that read is, no matter how many times you encounter it. On the non-fiction side, I have Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump. I skipped that one tonight because it's a completely different flavor of difficulty. It just leaves me infuriated and embarrassed by the political state of things.

When my eyes finally couldn't take another page, I stripped down and called it a night. Birthday suit only for me, it’s truly the only way to sleep.

Overall, a solid, packed day in the books. On to the next.

Solitude in the Crowd, Gym Gains and Theme Park Walks

Back at my desk in the office yesterday, and honestly, it felt great to get into a rhythm. Work was extraordinarily productive. For those following along who might not know, I work as a senior analyst for a large-scale agricultural company with crop operations spanning three continents. I genuinely love what I do, tackling complex global operations behind the scenes keeps things sharp and engaging.

Once the workday wrapped, it was straight to the gym for a brutal upper-body session of arms, chest, and back topped off with a killer 30-minute core routine.

I hit abs every single day, and the discipline is definitely showing. Getting double-takes and outright stares whenever I'm at the pool or shirtless in the park makes every rep worth it. If you put in the hard work, you might as well show it off!

After a quick gym shower, I threw on some evening walking clothes and headed over to Magic Kingdom at Disney World. It was open until 11 last night, but I didn’t stay that late. With an absolute gauntlet of a schedule coming up over the next month and a half - nearly every single day booked solid - I really wanted an evening to myself.

There's a unique kind of solitude in being completely alone in a sea of thousands of people you don't know. And, true to form, the tourist crowd did not disappoint:

  • The Vibe: Sweltering Florida heat, expectedly fragrant crowds, plenty of crying kids, and an absolute sea of hideous clothing: cargo shorts, camo, and ubiquitous Crocs.
  • The Lineup: I had mostly leisurely walks around the park and kept things low-key and relaxing with a few of my personal favorites:
    • The PeopleMover
    • Haunted Mansion
    • Mickey’s PhilharMagic

I finished off the night by stopping into Casey's Corner for a hot dog for dinner. Honestly, that footlong hot dog is as close to a hard footlong as I’ve gotten since the weekend... (wink). Safe to say I need to break that slump very soon!

Once the crowds assembled for fireworks over the castle I made my way to the monorail to head home. It is the perfect way to likely get a quiet car – maybe even one all to yourself – a true local’s hack!

All in all, it was the exact reset I needed before the upcoming whirlwind. Ready for whatever the rest of the week brings.

The Art of the Unwind: Legs, Lake Eola and Formalwear

Some Tuesdays just hit the absolute sweet spot between hard work, quiet routine, and those little moments of effortless style that remind you life is pretty good. Yesterday was definitely one of those days.

The day kicked off in typical high-intensity fashion with a brutal leg and abs session at the gym before work. There’s something deeply satisfying about conquering heavy sets before the sun is even fully up, it sets an untouchable tone for the rest of the day.

After powering through the workout, I transitioned into my standard Tuesday work-from-home rhythm. Staying focused at the desk is always a whole lot easier when you’ve already burned off that initial burst of morning energy.

Once the workday wrapped, it was time to trade the laptop for two wheels. I took my bike out for a spin around Lake Eola Park. The air was thick, but a slight breeze off the water and the gentle bustle around the lake make it the perfect post-work reset.

For dinner, I kept things simple but delicious and stopped by Tika Bowls & Tacos for some incredible Indian food. It’s hard to beat a warm, flavorful meal after an active day.

The highlight of the day, though, might have been trying on my tuxedo for next month’s Renaissance Theatre Gala. The evening’s theme is rebirth, reborn or something like that, so I ordered an amazing blue floral tux jacket to go over traditional white, crisp shirt and black pants. My whole idea is Spring is the season of new growth and rebirth, so go with florals. In the immortal words of Miranda Priestly: “Florals for Spring. Groundbreaking.”

It fits like a dream, and I have to admit, I look sharp. When a suit fits like it was custom-sculpted for you, you just know.

There’s nothing quite like the confidence boost of a perfectly tailored black-tie look waiting in the closet.

To cap off a solid 24 hours, I settled back in for a classic PBS night, diving into some Ken Burns documentaries. Fast-paced workouts, scenic bike rides, great food, and deep-dive history - all in all, a Tuesday exceptionally well spent.

Reflections & Rebuilding: Monday Routines and Finding My Edge Again

Yesterday was a textbook Monday, but honestly, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of a predictable grind.

I put in my hours at work, and once the laptop closed, I headed straight to the gym for an absolute gauntlet: arms, shoulders, chest, and abs. There’s something therapeutic about pushing heavy iron after a long day of mental work. It resets the system. Afterward, I kept up my nightly ritual and took a quiet walk around Lake Eola. I grabbed some Powerball tickets along the way. No, I didn’t win the jackpot, but I can’t complain about where life is landing lately anyway. I wrapped up the night back home, kicking back to watch the St. Louis Cardinals game on TV before calling it a night.

Lately, though, I’ve been thinking a lot about this "second act" of my life, how I got here, and what it actually took to reclaim my vitality.

If you had asked me a few years ago why I felt so drained, I would have just shrugged and blamed time.

Back when I was stuck in the toxic relationship, my body and mind were slowly shutting down. I was perpetually exhausted, gaining weight despite trying, struggling with brain fog, and dealing with sexual frustration and dysfunction. I was depressed, floating through the days, and completely resigned to the idea that "this is just what getting older feels like."

What I didn't realize at the time was that I was getting hit from two sides: a soul-crushing relationship dynamic on the outside and crashing hormone levels on the inside.

Once I got out of that bad environment, I realized I needed to take an honest, proactive look at my health. I sat down with my doctor, ran full bloodwork, and made the decision to start Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT).

Looking back, that decision was a massive catalyst for my second act.

While I know I’m not 21 on paper, physically I feel better than I ever did in my twenties. Combining TRT with dedicated training in the gym has completely transformed my physique. The muscle growth, strength, and sculpting have been incredible, and I’d be lying if I said the extra attention and action haven't been a fantastic boost. My energy is locked in, my sex drive is through the roof, and even subtle things, like my skin tone and hair, look and feel 100% revitalized.

Getting to this place wasn't just about changing a number on a lab result; it was about realizing I didn't have to settle for feeling broken or burned out. Leaving what didn't serve me and taking control of my health opened up a whole new chapter.

Here’s to the second act—and to keeping the momentum going.

Weekend Archive: Musicals, Muscles and Late-Night Musings

Now that the ink is officially dry on my first journal entry, I’m diving straight in to bring you up to speed on this past weekend.

Spoiler alert: I didn't waste a single second.

Friday: Disco Beats & Late-Night Debauchery

I kicked off the weekend on Friday night with a dose of culture at the Winter Park Playhouse for Never Can Say Goodbye. It was a high-energy jukebox musical celebrating the iconic female voices, bold 1970s fashions, and cultural revolution of the decade. Fantastic production—and let’s be honest, the 70s fashion inspiration was an added bonus.

Feeling energized, I made my way over to Savoy. The energy was right, so I spent a good portion of the night on the dance floor with a few ridiculously hot guys, making sure to deposit some "college fund" contributions into the jockstraps of a few box dancers. To round out a proper Friday night, I made a quick final stop at Club O for a couple of “O’s” of my own. A very satisfying start to the weekend.

Saturday: Legs, Art, and Close-Proximity Perks

Saturday morning started early with a brutal leg and abs session at the gym. After putting in the work, I rewarded myself with a tranquil, leisurely stroll through Lake Eola Park for a late brunch al fresco - just sitting in the sun, enjoying the breeze, and soaking in the quiet before the night ahead.

By Saturday evening, it was time to socialize. I attended the Gay Supper Club mingle at City Arts Gallery. I arrived solo, but I certainly didn't stay that way for long. The room was filled with incredible energy, and I quickly got wrapped up in a few great conversations with some very attractive men. A few numbers were exchanged... and let’s just say that living a block away from the venue has its distinct advantages. I ended up walking back to my place accompanied by a hunky gentleman who was built remarkably large in the right place. (wink).

Later that night, I caught a second wind and headed out to Anthem, spinning on the dance floor with a couple of Latin hotties before finally calling it a night—or rather, a morning.

Sunday: Shakespeare, Tom Ford, and Fine Arts

Sunday was just as packed, blending classic theater with high-society nightlife. In the afternoon, I took in an abridged version of Henry VI: War of the Roses at Orlando Shakes. The cast featured some of the best alumni performers from past productions, and the execution was top-tier.

As soon as the curtain fell, I scurried home to get ready for the evening. I suited up in a breathtaking new Tom Ford piece I recently procured for the start of gala season—fits like a glove and the way the pants hug my ass makes an absolute statement.

The main event was the Steinway Society Gala at the Orlando Museum of Art. It’s always a highlight of the season, raising funds to provide music lessons for disadvantaged youth. Excellent company, incredible art, fabulous philanthropy, and a wonderful way to kick off my favorite time of year.

To cap off an extraordinary weekend? Let’s just say I ended up getting my "flute" played by a very attractive bartender afterward (wink, again).

Until the next adventure,

— Living Well & Unfiltered

Act II: Unfiltered, Unapologetic and Under My Own Control

Welcome.

If you’ve stumbled upon this corner of the internet, consider this your official invitation to my world.

For a long time, my energy was directed elsewhere - poured into a long-term relationship that ultimately became toxic, draining, and antithetical to the life I actually wanted. Leaving that behind wasn't just a breakup; it was a total reclamation of my time, my peace, and my identity.

Now? The focus is entirely on me.

I am an Ivy League-educated, professional gay man living in the vibrant, sun-drenched city of Orlando, Florida. While most people associate this town purely with fantasy, I’m building a life here that’s genuinely fantastic - one balanced between culture, high energy, and self-investment.

My journal, this journal, is a living archive of my life being lived to the absolute fullest. You’re going to get an insider's look at how I spend my time:

  • Arts & Culture: Supporting local galleries, attending museum events, enjoying performing arts, and immersing myself in the cultural pulse of Florida and beyond.
  • The Thrill of the Parks: Embracing the world-class theme parks right in my backyard—because life should always have a bit of adrenaline and magic.
  • Global Travel & Adventure: Packing a bag, catching flights, exploring new cities, and soaking up international inspiration.
  • Refinement & Rest: Diving into great books, getting lost on a dance floor, discovering fine food, and enjoying every moment in between.

Part of this new chapter is a complete commitment to my personal image, health, and wellbeing. I spend a serious amount of time in the gym sculpting the body I want, and, I’ll be honest, the results are starting to speak for themselves. The extra attention is great, but the internal confidence boost is even better.

I’m fiercely passionate about fashion, aesthetics, and continuous self-improvement. Every tweak, every workout, every curated outfit, and every new boundary set is about one thing: finally maximizing my happiness healthily, happily, and sustainably.

This journal is where I’ll be documenting the travel, the style, the nightlife, the art, and the raw reality of rebuilding myself stronger and sexier than before.

So, pour a glass of something good, stay a while, and enjoy the ride.

Welcome to the best act yet.
